INDUSTRIES COMMISSION.

PREPARING LOCAL EVIDENCE. The local Chamber of Commerce is preparing evidence on various subjects to be placed before the Industries Commission when it sits in Wanganui in a few; weeks time. ’The Chamber has already decided to place evidence before the Commission on several matters of local ad well as general importance. The seedy wool question will be oa* which will be given considerable attention . Evidence as to the vast loss incurred annually through wool being contaminated with seed, the methods of extraction, and the plant required, will be placed before the Commission by Mr T* A. Bamber. Mr A. Harris will deal with the qnsst Won of the application of hydro-electrie power to assist in commercial development. The extraction of by-products from coal tar will b© dealt with by Mr A. Doig. Mr E. A. Campbell is to deal with thd economical use of forests, his evidened having special reference to the utilisation of a certain native timber which id at present practically not used at all. and which is claimed to be as nsefnl as the timbers in common nee. Another important matter will be placed before the Commission by Mr G, H. Pownall, who will deal with arterial roads, their construction and control, on the lines of the Victorian system. The Chamber will be pleased to hear from any other member or business m who can give information on these or any other subjects coming within fb* scope of the Commission. If they communicate with the secretary as eon* as possible, steps will be taken to investigate the suggestions. ar . i i m « . —.
