ST. JOHN’S CLUB. Another round of the Club Fours was played on Saturday afternoon, the games resulting as under;---Galbraith (sk) 27 v. Ritchie (sk) 14; Ashwell 27 v. Moffatt 11; Armstrong 27 v. Jack 12; Benefield 17 v. Glasgow 14; Harkness (sub. for Hodson) 25 v. Fraser 15; Gellatly 19 v. Stephenson 15, Scrivener 27 v. Christie (sub. for Gordon) 19. At a meeting of the committee dur ing the afternoon, the resignation of the club’s hon. secretary, Mr G. W. Sampson, was received with regret, ill-health having rendered it impracticable for that gentleman to continue the duties of the office. It was resolved to place on record the club’s appreciation of Mr Sampson’s services. Mr J. Robertson was unanimously elected to fill the vacancy. Three new members were elected. WANGANUI CLUB. CENTRE SHIELD. In the competition on Saturday, the Wanganui Club won both tho Senior and Junior. The senior games on the Wanganui green resulted:— Gonville: Barkman, Morshead, McAneny, Flower 13 v. Wanganui: Brookfield, Foster, Tiiley, London 32. Corby, Cochrane, Bromley, Bragg 11 v. Foley, Ogilvie, Atkinson, J. McFarlane 30. Totals: Gonville 24, Wanganui 62. JUNIOR SHIELD. The following games were played on the Wanganui green - Gonville; Travers, McKenzie, Carrad, Redwood 19 v. Wanganui; Gower, Pairbum, Price, Blundell 14. Dustin, Paterson, McKee, Gilberd 17 v. H. Addenbrook, Caiman, Greenwood, Doig Scott 21. Bailey, Anderson (sub.), Irwin, McMurtrie 22 v. F. Anderson, Newman, Wall, S. Addenbrook 20. Following were the games on the Gonville green (Gonville teams mentioned first): McKinnon, Tabari, Svenson (ek.) 19 v. Spence, Ehimes, Olson, McNiven (sk.) 18. Jeseop, Jarrett, Nicolls, Bowater(sk.) 21 v. Bartlett, Hole, Thorp, Harle (sk.) 23. Cameron, Wills, Hood, Steele (sk.) 13 v. Goodson, Jacobs, Howortli, Ridd (sk.) 23. Wanganui therefore won the Junior Shield by 8 points. OTHER GAMES. (Wanganui Green). Stevenson, Smith, Horden, Alexander 28, v. Stone, Coleman, Laurie, Milne, 8. Foreman Wilson, Jackson, 14, v. Sherriff, Death, Rankin, 27. Gonville Green. Hedditch, Passmore, Bourne, Nixon, 15, v. Goodwin, Hill, Jones, Rice (ek.), 33. Pirroin, Firmin, Williams (sk.), 17, v.
