PERSONAL
Another link with the past vu severed this morning by the death of Mr Michael Duigan, of 82 Ball Street, Wanganui, who passed away after a short illness at the ripe old age of 86, 48 years of which he had spent as a resident of this town. The deceased, who was a native of Ireland, was well known and highly respected. He served in the Crimea and also in the Indian Mutiny. He leaves a family of one daughter and five sons—William and Patrick (both now residents of Hastings) and Michael, Jack, and James—who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. Mr Owen Warnock, who recently passed his exam, at the Flying School, Christchurch, left yesterday for Wellington on route for England to join the Flying School. He was the recipient on Tuesday evening from the staff of Waniock’s of a wristlet watch. The presentation was made by Mr Sanow, who referred to the good feeling that always existed between young Mr Warnock and the staff, and wished him good luck and a safe and speedy return. Mr Warnock, in suitable terms, thanked tbe staff for the handsome present.
