OBITUARY
(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 30. Mr Charles William Adams, former Chief Surveyor and Commissioner of Crown Lands in Marlborough, died yesterday at Hutt, aged seventyeight. He was a native of Tasmania, settled in New Zealand in 1862, when he joined the Survey Department, and retired in 1904. His two sous are Dr. C. E. Adams, Government Astronomer at Wellington, and Mr Arthur Adams, journalist, of Sydney.
