RED JERSEY APPEAL
With, a view to raising funds to assist the Red Jersey Appeal, the St. John’s Hill ladies are having a stall in front of the Economic, and one in front of Chawanes’ Hotel, on Friday. Donations of fruit, vegetables, fancy work, etc., will be thankfully received at either stall early on Friday morning. The executive of the Citizens ’Red Jersey Appeal are having a public auction of goods sent in by trades’ warehousemen and the public generally. At Napier, in conjunction with this effort, several hundreds of pounds were raised in this way. The executive will be thankful for all gifts. Nothing is too large or small. Look over all your goods, and send them along, or ring up 643, Hicks and Bull; they will send their cart free of charge, any time or the day or night. All the goods will be acknewledgcd. “Stock is as g id as money.”
