GEMMEL CROSSINGS MURDER

(Per United" Press Association.) OAMARD, June 18. The Coroner’s inquiry into the death of George Swan Burke, who was murdered at Gemmell’s Crossing, near Oamaru, on the evening of April Hth. was held this afternoon before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.MA District Coroner. After lengthy evidence had been submitted by the police, the Coroner recorded the following verdict: That Georga Swan Burke was murdered by Onslow Mayhew, by means of a bullet discharged from a rifle at Gemraell’s Crossing on the Hth April, 1918.
