WAR WORK.
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE RED CROSS DEPOT. The following contributions have been received by Mrs Gifford-Moore at the Red Cross Depot in His Majesty's Buildings : St. Paul's Bible Class, 1 box swabs; Wanganui East W.C.T. (J., 6 pairs pyjamas, I pair socks, 1 pair mittens- Miss Parsons, 6 facecloths, 12 eye bandages; Miss Hardcastle, 5 cushions; Miss Gillillan, 1 cushion; Miss Chamberlain ss; Dune Hill Sunday School, lfcij St. Paul's Bible Class, 3 dozen swabs, 5 dozen swabs, and 11 bandages. During this month three cases were packed and forwarded from the Depot in His Majesty's Buildings. They contained the following articles: *SB sheets, 87 suits pyjamas, 38 facecloths, 15 manytail bandages, 10 cushions, 2 blankets, 44 suits pyjamas, 5 towels, 10 shirts, 57 wringers, 138 pillow-slips, 9 manytail bandages, 19 treasure bags, 1 bed-jacket, 3 bed-socks, 11 scarves, 5 chest protectors, 2 balaclavas, 1 hotwater hag cover, 2 pairs socks, 4 pairs slippers, 2 waterproof sheets. THE RED CROSS SHOP. The Wanganui Ladies' Golf Club once again are in charge of Mrs Gif-ford-Moore's Red Cross Shop in His Majesty's Buildings on this coming Wednesday. The ladies will gladly welcome any donations of home-made cooking, produce and flowers, and wish tc specially draw,,the attention of the public to the jumble stall, which will contain splendid bargains, particularly in children's clothing. Note the address—His Buildings. PATRIOTIC RED CROSS SHOP. The Patriotic Red Cross Shop (next the Bank of New South Wales) will ,be open on Friday next in charge of Mesdames Webb Jones and Rice and the Gonville ladies. Special attractions will be cooking of every description, meat, produce, flowers and sweets, fancy goods, etc. There will also be competitions for a block of soap, an iced cake, and other goods. Business will commence at 10 a.m. Those who mistook the recent effort of the Gonville ladies for the approaching day when Mesdames Webb Jones and Rioe will.be in charge, are requested to repeat their contributions.
