EDUCATION BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wangaliui Education Board was held last evening, the following being present: Messrs F. Pirani (chairman), Christie, Hemingway, Broad, Bryant, Sewell, Joblin, Collins, Eraser, and Mclntyre. The chief inspector reported favourably on the establishment of a school at Mangatiti. It was decided to apply to the Department for a grant for a school at Moutoioa. The settlers at Pornangaki have been asked to provide a room for a school. The following grants were made:—■ Terrace End, £1 16s; Stoney Creek, £3; Utiwai, £2 4s; Alton, £3;'Feildmg D.H.S., £5 12s. A cornmunciatiou was received from the Education Department stating that owing to the attendance at tue Bulls High School it was not prepared to provide a salary for a secondary assistant.
