THE CALL FIRL FOR FOR MEN.

"THE NATION WILL RESPOND." LONDON. April 6. Newspapers welcome Sir William Robertson's plain speech, m which lie stated the nation's need for half a million additional men. They say there is no doubt thai: the nation will respond all the better, knowing the tiuth. and they point out that the British troops have already proved their ability to break any line the Germans can create. If the nation provides additional men our superiority will grow till the enemy cracks. The papers state that the Medical Be-examinations Bill will not go far towards providing the additional 500.0(10 men, and it is increasingly clear that resort must be made to men over 41 years of age. It is suggested that these men be formed into battalions to work or light, some of them releasing young men employed in the necessary trades for service in the field.
