GERMAN STORIES OF DEADLY CHEMICALS. “A German occupying an important position in Switzerland, and who is in touch with leading persons in German chemistry, informs me,” says the Central News Zurich correspondent, “that among these people the belief) is held that Germany's most formidable weapons in the coming decisive struggle will emanate not from Krupp’s, nor from the submarine yards, but from the chemical laboratories. “He states that experiments on an extensive scale are being carried out in various parts of the German Empire, one of the most common being the throwing of bombs containing certain deadly chemicals into enclosures containing dogs, with the object of discovering over how wide an area the animals can be killed-or disabled by the gases of the bombs. “This German is unable to say whether the experiments have been successful, or whether the formula? sought for by the German chemical world have been found, but he expresses the hope that these chemical compounds will never be used. “It may be added, by way of comment, that German v seems to be full at present of stories of the terrible things that are going to happen to the adversary.”
