It is reported that arrests have been made of conspirators at Dreby in connection with an alleged plot to poison Lloyd George. Later ARce Whedden, her daughter Harriett, and married daughter (Mrs Winifred Mason) and son-in-law, Alfred Mason, were charged with conspiring to murder Mr Lloyd George and Mr A. Henderson. They were remanded. The women are all Suffragettes. Mason is a conscientious objector. They were arraigned-at Derby and remanded till Saturday.

SUBMARINING TO BE RESUMES.

HINTS AT PEACE WITH BELGIUM. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) Received February 1, 11.0 a.m. NEW YORK, January 31. Germany, in a Note to the United States, announces the resumption of unrestricted sea warfare, presumably submarinings. Germany demands that Americans shall be barred from all ships plying in certain specified zones, and hints at peace with Belgium if given assurances that the Allies will not use the country as a base for their future war plans.
