Mrs C. E. Mackay left Wanganui fo# Wellington to-day. Sincere sympathy is universally felt for Mr, J. Greaves, a well-known citizen of' Wanganui, in the sad loss of hie wife, who passed away on Sunday afternoon after a very short illness. The deceased Was the- youngest daughter ot the late Mr R. Piper—a very old- Wan*’ ganui family. She had a very placid, loving nature, which endeared her to all who knew her' She leaves a family of five children to mourn her loaS. The management of J." C. Williamson, Ltd., have" extended an invitation td twenty returned soldiers to witness the production of "So Long, Letty" at the Opera-House this --evening. The number of invitations has been limited on account of the previous heavy booking. Applicants for tickets can have same by applying to the Patriotic Association’s office or the Returned Soldiers* Club.
