BRITISH SHIPBUILDING.

DIRECTOR OF LABOUR. LONDON, January 14. Sir Edward Carson, First Lord of the Admiralty, has appointed Mr L. L. Macassey to assist the Admiralty in the. organisation of labour for shipbuilding, with the title of Director of Shipyard Labour. Mr Macassey was secretary to the Royal Commission on London Traffic, 1903-6, and in. 1904 was appointed by the Treasury to inspect and report on locomotion facilities and systems in the chief cities of the United States. He has published a number of works, including “The. Rapid Transit Commission of New York” and “The Distribution of Population' by Transit Facilities.”
