FEDERAL POLITICS.

LABOUR PARTY’S ATTITUDE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MELBOURNE, January 23. A settlement of the political tangle is further postponed. Mr Tudor will not accept Mr Hughes’ invitation to a conference until the placing of the position before the party, which it is now understood will not meet until a few days before the opening of Parliament on February 7th. Members now openly declare it is no use beating about the bush. The party will have nothing to do with anything Mr Hughes is connected vfith, and there is absolutely no hope of Mr Tudor being allowed to join the other parties in the formation of a War Ministry.
