Everybody's Theatre was opened under (lie Hayward Management on Saturday evening, when the interest taken liy the public in the new- venture was shown hy the large crowd who attended. So groat was the eru-.li indeed that large numbers were ciuiti- uuahle to gain admission, and had perforce to postpone till another evening their (irst visit to the beautifully appointed and decorated theatre. The theatre was formally opened by his Worship the Mavor who, in a harp ■ rpeeeh, i-omplijnenteil the Hayward tint, on their progress!veness and wished them, every success in their entciprisc. Th ‘ programme, was then gone through, and moved a most excellent one, being generally voted one if the best ever screened in Wanganui, “Tie Departure of the Second Maori Contingent" was a most realistic film, which was received with great enthusiasm. The complete pictorial record of the last Melbourne Cun, won by Patrohas, was splendidly illustrated, the pictures being remnrkahlv clear, steady rod interesting. That popular favourite. Married Man," both of which convulsed the audience. The fourth episode of "The Million Dollar Mystery." en titled "The Third Floor Flat." depicted the sensational adven‘ur n s <f Florence ir the hands of the Black Hundred, and was brimful of interest and excitement All those who purchased tickets or Saturday night and failed to gain admission may use their tickets any time during this week. “Everybody's” is now fairly launched on its career as a continuous picture theatre. The programme commences at 1 p.m,, continuing till 5 p.m., re-commcnc-ing at 6 p.m. ami closing at lll. hi p.m. A magnificent programme will bp screened, the principal nictu-e being entitled “Sons of Satan." Adapted from a storv of that fascinating author. Wij liani I.e Queux. "Sons of Sa*au" embraces all the sensation and subtlety of the storv with the added merit of the reality of the living picture. Cartoons from "John Bull's Sketch Book" ('humourous', and “The European tlazette," with topical war pictures, complete a fine programme. “The Tim Floor Flat.” a”d also the Melbourne Cup race, will again bo screened. GARRISON BAND CO XPERT. The Garrison Band, under the deputy conductor, Mr. H. Briggs, gave a programme in the Hospital grounds yesterday afternoon, which proved a source of pleasure to (he inmates of the hospital is well as fae general public present. Some excellent numbers were rendered in i style which called forth many expressions of appreciation from the audience, ind added still further to the hand's list ■f successes.
