AN URGENT APPEAL. 70 MEN WANTED BEFORE FBIOAY. It is now staled that the Defence Department requires seventy men to report in Wanganui not later than Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock, to proceed to tamp on Friday. Circulars have been sent out from the local Defence Office to eighty odd men who were waiting, hut the response to the urgent call is not so satisfactory as the officers would like it to he. and we have hern asked to remind any man who can proceed to camp on Friday to report to the Defence Office at once.
