The Committee recognises that your committee has rendered a great patriotic service, not only by the sum raised and handed to my Committee, but by the splendid patriotic spirit instilled into the children by making them important in producing such excellent results. I enclose a note which my Committee addresses to the children, with a request that you will be good enough to have it read in the various schools. Yours sincerely, T. BOSWALL WILLIAMS, Chairman Patriotic Committee. To the Children of the Various Schools. Dear Children.—We, members of the Wanganui Patriotic Committee, desire to acknowledge with: sincere thanks the great help you nave been to us, not only by the very substantial sum that you have added to our funds, but by the display of splendid loyalty and patriotism that was necessary to produce so good a result. It is most gratifying to your elders to find that you are so early recognising what a great privilege it, is to be Britishers, that you are growing to be worthy successors of your parents, fit to maintain the dignity and uphold the high traditions of the greatest Empire the world has ever known, viz,, that of Great Britain. The result of your efforts on ‘‘Our Day,” and the penny cards, total the sum of £523/17/9, which is extremely creditable. This successful effort chows the value that each and every one of you is to the nation. Each one of you can help in tne great work we have on hand, and when united your strength is a power in the land. You will be able to help in many ways, and wTien the great victory is achieved you will be in the croud position of having done your best to secure the glorious result. Let your prayers be for a speedy victory and perfect peace among the nations. Yours thankfully, For the Committee, T. BOSWALL WILLIAMS, Chairman.
