Hackney, said he had discussed the new recruiting scheme with Lord Derby, w'io said that his experience had already con vinced him that the voluntary system would be saved. He confidently antic, pated that by the end of November th.n ' would be sufficient recruits to meet tlarequirements of the array. Sir A. Gosling, speaking at Dept foal, said Lord Kitchener had promised the Allies an army cf a certain size. Tin r" was no going back upon that. It was useless telling Lord Kitchener: "We thin! wo shall get enough men.” Lord Kitchener would reply: "Have you g>t enough'’’ Mr C. W. Bowcrmau, M.P., said the response to the Labour Recruiting Ccmmittce was extremely good. Several delegates stated that, with a view to av< tiling enlisting, young men obtained work in tho arsenals which could be done ty men over military ago.
