NINTH REINFORCEMENTS.
SEND-OFF THIS MORNING. The extra men of the 9lh Reinforce; ments left for Trqntliam by the. 7 o'clock train this morning, and wore farewelled by a large crowd, the public turning tan in good force. The National Reserve also mustered well, their ' parade being:—A. Company 64, B. Cbffinanv 53, Q. Company 64. D. Company S3.- ' . Tlie men paraded at the Drill Hall at (j.30. where they were addressed by Mr T. 'B, Williams (chairman of the Patriotic Committee). Headed by the Garrison Band, they then marched to the railtrav station, where they quickly entrained. The National Reserve and tho public lined up on the platform, and ns the train pulled out gave the men a round of hearty, cheers, whilq the Garrison Band played f ‘The Girl I Left Behind Me." Mr W. A. Veitch requests us to say that he was also to fiave addressed the men this mortiing, but, through an evident inadvertence, was informed that the addresses were to be given at the railway station, where he waited for the men, but, under the circumstances, was only able to take a personal leave of them.
