AUSTRALIAN FREIGHTS RISING.
Presa Association.—Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, October 23. Australian homeward freights are rising daily, owing to the Greek and Roumauia tonnage withdrawn, and the number of steamers commandeered for the Dardanelles. £4 10s per ton is offered for steamers, with no takers. Another difficulty is that the use of ships for Australian wheat would prevent them from bringing thrice the amount of foodstuffs from America in the same period.
