WELIJNOTON, October 22, The-Priihe Minister informed a,-fopor.er to-night that.he had received d cablegram from the Imperial .authorities asking : if New., Zealand could supply another hundred trained nurses for service in Egydt; Thd information placed; before him vs s to the effect that the nurses couid be Supplied. Dr. Valintinq, Inspectdr-GwV ral ,df Hospitals, had reported that the number. mentioned coifld bo spared Wi‘itout impairing the efficiency of the public, hospitals, and Mifls McLean,, who had the matter in hand, had stated that there would be no difficulty in enrolling ynmOw-j from among the volunteers already, on the books’. The Cabinet had decided, therefore, that a, hundred nurses should be sent. - Mr Massey mentioned that probably the nurses would go- as-passengers-in the her,nital ships when they ieft New Zealand. The Marama would be leaving in December, and was making the trip back to New Zealand-—world be leaving .Wellington, again a little later.
