JEWS HAVE RALLIED TO BRITISH COLOURS.

LONDON, August 17. The prominent part the English Jew is playing in the European war was b-ought vividly to the fore this week upon the return from the battlefields in France of Chief Rabbi Joseph Herrmann Hertz and Rev. Michael Adler, chief chaplain of the JewMh soldiers in the field. They found that out of an aggregate of 220,000 Jews living in the British Isles, more -,han 20,000 are wearing British uniforms in the firing line, or'approximately 10 per cent, of the entire English Jewish population. Not only this, but figures obtained authoritatively by the correspondent show that another 5000 Jews are in the recruiting ranks, putting the total of Jews enlisting under the flag at considerably over 25,000.
