Journal gives details of German plans for. promoting strikes in America. - - Matthew Cummings, a Bostonian, approached Mr William Dempsey, secretary of tho Atlantic Longshoremen ’a - Society, regarding a strike.. Strikers would be paid ten dollars .per week. He considered a six weeks’ strike would be sufficient. As a bait to the leaders; he suggested that they give the workmen five dollars, the leaders, to pocket the balance. Cummings -communicated with 1 ' T. O’Connor, the longshore nen’s president,, an Irish Labour 'leader.
