MONTHLY MEETING. The usual -monthly meeting of th,e Wanganui County Cophc was held . this morning, presided;.over by the chairman, Cr Robinson..' Thefe were, also present Crs Bamber, O'Neil, pine, D. Mackintosh, A.’Mackintosh, Po'Bon, and A. Collins. 1 '' ■ : ■ , . IMPROVING engineer was jaiithbrlsed tn report bn the! cost of re-forming apd, metalling a portion ’ of .the road between Mitchell'S.’ciilvert and RhevManga\Vhero bridge, : : ,Re$TAR.—rR ..was also decid'd to instruct the engineer to ‘ futnißh ? re- : port, on the.cost of. repairing a Strip of restarred road oh the Piitlkl Road. PERRY.—It was decided to grant the ferry-mam at the Uppkongaro ferry £2 bonus for services rendered In looking after the ferry punt during the recent flood. ' T V ! . RESIGNATION,—A letter .was received from Mr G. Collins, resigning his seat on the Council owing tp toing accepted for military service. Mr A. H. Collins has been elected, to the vacancy without opposition. ,■ FLOOD DAMAGE.—The Public Works Department asked for a : detailed report of the damage to the Ooiinty roads, and the approximate cost of repairs.—lt’was decided to ask, the foreman to* make uj> the schedule., ’ '"'■■■ ' v AUSTIN SCARIFIER—It whs decided to . order ah Austin scarifier for the road roller. . V . a UNION LINE.i—A ■ deputation' ' from the Purua Riding waited On tiie Cnurieil asking for , portion of the Union . Line, for about 25 to 30 chins, to be metalled. The speakers said the road was in n bad state, and vehicles were often- ajhcfe oh tlie-hill,— I TKe-.Ooui'eil assured the demvtation that it would afford the, settlers some relief, and Or.| Batnber was -insinict'ed to take the matter in band. TENDER/—The tender of Mr Cann. for formation on the Te Rimu Road ex-, tension, Mangawherp Valley, .was . accented. 1 ■ HOSPITAL BOARD .REPRESENTATIVE,— Gr. Mine , was; - the .
