Twenty lads belonging to the training ship Cornwall Were rowing off Pnrfleet, when a squall drove a tug upon the rowing boat, and cut it in halves, the boat sinking immediately. An officer and 16 lads were drowned, the current being ' too strong for even the most powerful swimmers.
