Bordeaux officially reports that a general action is in progress ahmg the lino ' Tl|Oia Nanteville and Haudoni (about 2o miles north-cast of P.aii:;). to Mens (on a height above t!m River Marne, about 28 miles north-cast of Paris) and on to Verdun, the great French fortress, which is 140 ratios oast of Paris, and S'J miles from the eastern French frontier.
The Anglo-French force has cam; eileJ the Germans to fall back from Cau'.ommiers (30 miles east of Paris) to La Forte, 15 miles rearward of the former town.
