Kumeroa Hack—Evadne 1, Zeus 2, Mystified 3. All started. Won comfortably by a length and a half. Time, Imin 2sec. Second Hack Hurdles Waipaku 1. Stockade 2, Master Malachi 3. All started. Won easily by four Lengths. Time, 2min 52sec. Ballance Hack—Lubriline 1, Alecto 2. Te Houhou .3. Scratched: Chassis and Orleans. Won comfortably by a length. Time, Imin 31 Sec.

DUNEDIN RACES. SECOND DAY. (Per United Press Association ) DUNEDIN, February 19 The weather is superb, and the going good, and She attendance satisfactoiy tor an "off” day. Results— Hurdles—kingsway 1, Jack Ashore 2, Pure Gold 3. Scratched—Simon Pure. Won by two lengths, a neck between second and third. Time, 3.22. Henley Handicap—Silver Shield 1, Scotch .Melody 2, Slogan 3. Scratched— John aßrloveorn. Won by a head. Time, 1.29 2-5. Anniversary Handicap—Thrax (F. E. Jones) 1, Oapon 2, The Cornet 3. Scratched : Flora Macdonald. A tine race. Won by half a neck, third horse two lengths away. Masterpiece was fourth. Time, linin 42sec.

Flora McDonald paid a fairly good dividend in fhe Dunedin Cup, the fact , that she had done very little work at Bieearton prior to leaving for Dunedin, leading many to fear that'she would not see out tne distance. At the end of the present racing season Bronze and Ermengarde will finish their turf careers. The’latter will be put, to the stud, and Bronze will be returned to her breeder, Mr G. M. Currie, of Wanganui. The distinction 6f winning the first noteworthy weight-for-age race for the New dear fell to Jolly Beggar, the son of Ayr Laddie silencing the opposition in the decision of the St. George Stakes at caulfield on Saturday last. Jolly Beggar is engaged in the Newmarket Handicap with 9.7. Under 8.7 Jolly Beggar ran second in that race last autumn.
