COUNTESS AND DUKE.

DIVORCE PETITION DISMISSED

Frew Association—Telegraph—Copyngnl Received February 17. !).30 a.m. LONDON. February 16. The Meeklenberg-Schwerin divorce petition has been dismissed. The court Iscided that it had no jurisdiction. It was cabled a few days ago that the Countess Degrasquet James was suing the Duke Borwin of Mecklenbnrg-Schwerin for restitution of conjugal rights. The countess is an American, and widow of a French count. She married the duke, who is cousin to the reigning archduke, at a Dover registry office in 1911, and the religious ceremony was performed in Paris two months later. The High Court of Mecklenburg has annulled the marriage on the ground that the duke was married without his guardians' consent. The countess is, therefore, not his wile in Germany, and she asks the court to define her position in England.
