LYCEUM PICTURES. The Lyceum had another largo andiene-j last evnning, when admirers of Dickens were afforded another treat in seeing the jovial John Runny pourtraying the part of the chief character in the ‘‘Pickwick Papers." A better “.Mr Piei'-ick" than the famous Amrciean comedian could not have been chosen, while the parts of the other characters of the book are in capable hands also. The Vitagrapb Company, it may be mentioned, transported its staff to England for the taking of this picture, so that the incidents could be staged in the identical parts of England which Dickens placed them in. This picture if supplemented by a fine list of subjects, all of which are up to the Lyceum's usual good standard. The programme will be screened for the last time to-night. ROYAL PICTURES. To-morrow (Thursday) evening the Royal Pictures will resume at the Opera House, when something out of the ordinary ipromised in the shape of a. programme every item of which will be of special merit. Opera House, Wednesday, 17th September—four weeks from to-night. The Anglican Church at Gonville, if holding an entertainment is (lie Town Hall in that suburb, to-morrow evening. A first-class programme has been prepared and a fine evening’s entertainment can be looked forward to. A very pleasant evening was spent a( tlio Jubilee Home last evening, by a parly of ladies and gentlemen who journeyed out. After a fine programme of items, in which Misses Watt. V. Jones, F. Jones, Kelly, Howater, Ealkucr, and liarkman, and Messrs Thomson, Corpe, Lampo, and Darker took part. Mrs Allen entertained the party at supper. Mr Alien thanked them' for their kindness and Mr Lampc replied in a suitable strain.
