GRADUATED TAX FOR LAST YEAR. (By Telegraph.—Special to Hebald.) WELLINGTON, August 19. In accordance with an order of the House, on the motion of Mr Myers, the Hon. Mr Allen to-day tabled a return showing that the revenue from the graduated land (ax for 1912-1913 was £251,275, for which urban land paid £7l,l9l'and rural land £1811,084. Tlie increase in the revenue from the graduated land tax for 1912-13 oyer the previous year was £40.101. Of this it is estimated urban land paid £13,078 and rural laud .£.33,083. UNEXHAUSTED LOAN AUTHORITIES. A list of unexhausted authorities for loans as at June .30, 1913, was tabled by the Hon. .Mr Allen this afternoon, in r. - spouse to a question from Mr Myers. The total amounted to .£7,451,285, detailed as follows:—Aid to water-power works account £420,000, State coal mines account ,£25,000, scenery preservation account £.35,000, naval defence account £301,500, Wollington-Hutt railway and road improvement account £5320, railways improvement account £95,470, Waih'ou and Ohinemuri Rivcm improvement account £50,000. native laud settlement account £450,0(H), Maori laud settlement account £450, land for settlement account £900,500. opening up Crown lands for settlement account £74,045, Raugitaiki land drainage account £IO,OOO. New Zealand State guaranteed advances account £5,024,000.
