RANGITIKEI v. WANGANUI. I A match between the Raugitikei and j Wanganui representative teams was payed on the Heo. this afternoon. The weather was unfavourable, a light drizzling rain falling and this interfered with the attendance, which was very meagre. THE TEAMS. The teams wore as under; Rangitikei.—Full, Dinrblo: three-quar-ters, Blair, MeAlley, and Ingram: iiveeighths, Signal and Hartley; half. Potter; forwards, S. Green, (wing), Heggluud (2), ' Norttfover, Wallace, Higgs, Price, and Knox. | Wanganui.—Full, 0. Dustin; threequarters, Tingey, Mouli, and Temperton; five-eighths, Faber and McGregor'; half, Atkins; forwards. Lynch, Caldwell, Whittington, Smart, Qiiirke, Hrydon, Mofi'it and Laird. Scott. ■ The visitors played with a slight wind behind them in the first spell, and wore not long in opening their account, as after a good rush, Wallace got over and secured a try, which green converted. | Rangitikei j. Wanganui 0. I Resuming, .Wanganui played up well, and for some time kept the visitors in their own half. As the result of a run ! illl d kick by Temperton, Rangiitkei forced. I Rangitikei then took play into Wanganui territory, wjiere Ingram marked, and I Green had a shot from near half way. He made a, good shot, hut just missed. Some even play followed, and then the visitors invaded Wanganui's quarters, and ail but scored twice, a free and a force in quick succession saving the locals. Rangitikei then tried some passing, but they were checked, and a blue rush beaded by Laird and (juirke beat Rangitikei back to midfield. A line kick by McGregor put- the visitors’ line in danger, but Signal secured and saved well, . puffing out near the 25. Rangitikei mailed piny to Wanganui half, where C. Dustin saved wed with a good line kick. Wanganui then had a good chance to score, hut Menli hung on instead of pass- ; out, and was grassed. Rangitikei again indulged in some passing, which let bignall away, and he dashed to the line, v, here ho was brought down by McGregor and lost the ball, a force resulting. Resuming, the visitors again rushed the line, and Hcggluiid scored a try, which was unconverted.
