BOXING.

WANGANUI AMATEUR ASSOCIATION. At a meeting of the committee of the Wanganui Amateur Boxing Association, held last evening, it was resolved to extend the time for receiving entries for the district championship tournament, to be held in the Opera House next Wednesday, until Saturday next. It was also decided to endeavour to match T, Thomson, of Wellington, and Walter Ireland, of Waipawa, for a purse of £2O. These two lightweights., if they meet, should put up a splendid light, and one that will help to make up a line evening’s entertaiment for next Wednesday evening. /
