BIG FIRE AT KIMBOLTON.

NUMBER OF PREMISES DESTROYED. ! NEW POST OFFICE BURNT. j (Par United Pme Association.) FEILDING, May 13. A disastrous lire occurred at Kimbblton at 2.30 o’clock this morning, a number of premises being destroyed. The tire started :n Poole’s Hall, occupied by A. P. Bailey as a motor garage. A stiong witd was blowing, and the lire quiet.ly demolished the garage and spread to the premises of K. 11. Patterson (saddler), and then to a private dwelling "occupied by Catch ell. The rest place to go was tne line twotorey Post Office finished at the end of IStt#, also the dwelling occupied by Mr ilbittei den. the postmaster, who had been in charge only a week. Mr Chittenden lost most of his furniture, including a piano. Mr Hailey had two motor-cars destroyed. The insurances are as follow:—Poole s Hall. £31)0 in the New Zealand office; Hailey. £2OO on one motor-car, £IOO on stock and plant in the New Zealand office, and £4OO on the other car in another office; Patterson. £225 in the Sew Zealand office and £75 in the South British; Chittenden’s furniture was insured for £l5O in the State office.
