When the last mail left, programmes were being drawn up for ;i week of health sermons, health lectures, and health demonstrations in almost every district from Penzance to Wick. The following programme, drawn up by the township of Bolton, is typical of the plan being followed by about a hundred other :oniinunities for the Health Week this year:—Health Sunday: Special sermons in the churches and chapels; civic vi.-it to parish church, all the' boys’ brigades attending; health addresses to ° Sunday school children. During the week; Mass meetings to consider health matters. Free cinematograph shows ou health subjects; "How to dust a room”, “The Working of i Day Nursery,” “Why Yon Should Kill That Fly.’’ “How to Breathe Properly,” “Water .-Under the Microscope,” “Comraratiye Food Values.” Opening of three or "four “health houses”—ea-h an ordinary house in a poor district adapted strictly to the rale of hygiene, and thrown open to view., Afternoon meetings of employers to diseuss local oppoitnnitics of smoke abatement. Lectures to day school teachers, who will in turn address the scholars on specific health subjects. Essay competitions for school children, with letters of commendation, signed by the Mayor, for the best efforts. Lectures at i fi- local schools for mothers. Lectures j a‘. the girls’ and boys’ clubs. Short talks to men at the principal factories and workshops of the town, and also at the Tramwaymcn’s Institute, rganised visiting of ratepayers to public works, such as the water filter beds, the hospitals, the sanatorium, and the sewage works. 1
