LONDON WOOL SALES.
APRIL-MAY SERIES. ’ Dalgcty and Company, Ltd,, AVclliugton, have received cabled advice fropitheir London office, dated 7th May, . as/follows: “The wool sales closed 'very firm, with an ocasional .improvement' on the opening rates. As- compared with the last sale’s rates at closing, crossbred wools, fine quality, prices are rather lower; medium crossbred wools, suitable for America, prices rather lower; coarse crossbred, prices are rather higher; sliped crossbred, prices higher; scoured crossbred, prices unchanged; lambs’ wool, prices unchanged. The total net quantity available amounted to 187,000 bales, 1000 bales were sold to America, 93,000 for Home consumption, and 45,000 halos to the Continent, leaving 48,000 bales carried forward.” The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable from its London office: “The sales have closed very firm, and 'prospects arc good. Total quantity held over, 50,000 bales, of which 25,01)0 bales are New Zealand.”
