The motion was carried without further discussion. / Attendance.—The question of pupils attending classes for a short time and being withdrawn before they had completed the year s course, was broached in the report ■y the Principal, Mr Armour suggested tuat the pupils’ parents should be made 1: > pay at least a quarter of the. capitation. it was resolved that the matter be' ■i.isensscd at the next meeting. Council 'Grants.—The Chairman report-; al on the result-of the deputation’s visit, to the County Council recently in connection with obtaining grants. The Wanganui County' Council had granted £25, but'; i’. grant from the Waitotara Comity Co ini-• oil was lost on the casting vote of , the cnairman;". Repairs to the College—Mr A. Robinson ; eported on several- matters requiring- ati ntiou, a considerable amount of damage having- been done by last week’s, storm. Water Rates.—The question of water inles was referred to the building committee. Assembly Hall.—The Principal was instructed to apply for a license for the Assembly HaM. Tennis Courts.—Mr Armour stated that some members of flic Wanganui Tenuis Club had approached him in regard to the leasing of one of the College’s asphalt tennis courts, for the winter season only, r.:. ;a remuneration of £7 10s. The Principal's action in jetting the court to the members was endorsed. This class promises to be a very successful one and is well attended. t Correspondence Classes.—As a result of 'his committee's resofutiou re correspondence classes, tae Hoard has authorised Mr L. Crow, head of the engineering classes, to institute correspondence classes in tne various branches of engineering-; It is hoped that we will be able to enrol among our students dairy managers and employees, students in, outlying districts • lor classes in stationary and marine engineering, etc. Mr Crow has- a .scheme -..hereby models of working parfs may be sent through the post, and so the needs of , such students should be well catered tor. " ; . Milking -Machine,—A 'milking machine is now being installed in the engineering workshop.
