Tlio penultimate day's shooting to-day saw several disasters befalling the leadingcompetitors. , The . wind, which was gusty throughout, Varied considerably in strength, and the competitors had much difficulty in fixing the windage: The wind changed at times from the dead rear to; -the ; left rear. The mpst remarkable feature of the day’s shooting was the' collapse of Drummond,'who entered on the day’s shooting with 376, occupying eighth position. Counting in his two sighters, he had to-day 32 shots, but failed to find tho target with a single one of them. Potter, (Auckland) commenced the day with a i clear load of ten points, and finished up in the 23rd"position," 19'points'-behind'.the' leading scorer. •"■ In ; the"’ Hawke’s Day Match, Pranks' ; (Christchurch) registered the possible, while at the 1000 yards, uh-" dor the most difficult shooting conditions, Sutherland, a tyro from Goodwood, also scored 50. The following are the highest 25 aggregates for the King's Prize:

Opaki had .easy wins in both C.A.C. contests, most of their team shootinp- most consistently throughout. In the Champion Teams MatcJi, Saadford (Christchurch), the last man, wanted a magpie to enable lus team to win, and succeeded in finding the bullse-e. -Mavenzi (Kaitawa) and James . Lhe United Service Match, ten men aside, / shots each, at .200, 500, and 600 yards, was won by the Rifle Club .team,■ with score of 888, the Territorials scoring 846 ami a Staff team 835.- This match carries with it Dawson’s Shield and £W in cash. -
