Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright SYDNEY, March 6. The post mortem on the girl Esther Porter dicloscd the fact that she was strangled before her head was smashed. The rumours, that she was outraged have been disproved. There is still no clue to the perpetrator of the crime.
LUNATIC SUSPECTED
Received March 7, 10.35 a.m. SYDNEY, Alarch 7. In connection with' the girl Porter’s murder, it is reported that an inmate of an asylum escaped, and was seen in the vicinity recently. The: residents arc scared, and .will not allow their cliildren to go through the bush to school. Police and black trackers-are searching.
The body,of a girl named Esther Porter, ' aged 14 years, residing at Bankstown, was ,! found near the Punchbowl railway station I with her head battered in and other terrible injuries.
