SPORTING.

VICTORIA RACING CLUR. AUTUMN-CARNIVAL. - THIRD DAY. Press Association.—Telegraph.—Copyright FLEMINGTON, March 6. -The weather to-day was cold, dull, and showery,, with’ a strong,, wind. The record attendances of the first'two days were not repeated, although, there was a good crowd in the enclosure. The course was heavy. Both Government' House parties were present. The short races were run on the turn instead of up the straight. The two most, interesting races were the All-Aged, Stakes' and'the Loch Plate. Endoriis, considered’ by' Lewis to be the fastest horse’ he has yet written, was thought to have a mortgage 'over anything up to a mile.. After'that his. performances were disappointing. To-day it whs considered that the only horse to' have > a chance' .against him was Cider. It was well proved that it was a one-horse race., Eudorns in tl’id ’ straight’” spread-eagled, the Held and, xvoil in a canter. - . In the Loch Plate,. Piastre and AVolawa created ' intense’ interest, ~Sydney people hotly favouring Piastre; and Melbourne sports cliampiohiiig Wolawa. Piastre’s tactics in the Essendon Stakes were repeated, Offa being sent out to’ ; take np the running, Piastre’running last for about three furlongs. Piastre got Up'to the Hold in a mile and led into the'straight, Wolawa before that stage being in difficulties. The Sydney horse- won .handsomely, and Wolawa, struggling, ’ failed to get a, place. Sheriff Muir ran a good race, and should show up’ well in the Sydney' Clip. The River’Handicap conditions provided the lowest handicap weight at 7st 71b, but through ap oversight Handicapper Menzie.s adopted Gat 71b as the minimum, so notices were posted notifying that all weights had been raised a stone. Loch Amos therefore carried- 8.7, and put up a good performance. Results: —-
