' ‘ THE ROYAL PICTURES. OPEKA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. The management of the Boyal Pictures will screen a special holiday programme this evening, when the attendance should he a record. The star picture, “The Petrol Bandits,’’is full of excitement from start to finish, and shows how a detective manages to secure a desperate hand of thieves. This picture drew'record attendances at Wellington, and will no doubt do the same here. A splendid supplementary programme will he screened, which embraces all the latest of the cinematographer’s art, topical, scenic, dramatic, and educational pictures that will please everyone, arc what the management guarantee, and their word can he confidently relied upon. Patrons arc reminded that the doors will open to-night at 7.20. The box-plan for reserved scats is rapidly filling, and for the convenience of patrons the plan will ho on view at the Opera House to-day till 5 p.m. Scats may also ho reserved by ’phones 324 or 852.

HAYWAED’S PICTUEES. . LYCEUM TO-NIGHT. This evening Hayward’s Pictures will present a- splendid holiday programme for the approval of their patrons. The Yitagraph Comany are represented by two star pictures—one dramatic and the other comedy. The former is entitled “The Cross Eoads,” a family drama full of real heart interest, and it keeps the audience thinking from the start to the finish of the picture. “The AVooing of a Handsome Man” is a comedy that causes no end of laughter, and shows how six girls decided to make a man marry, and the way they manage to bring the man to the altar is most amusing. The other pictures include scenic, comedy, topical, and educational subjects. Patrons are reminded to >go early to-night, as accommodation is sure to be limited. Scats can be reserved by ringing ’phones 313 or 852.
