A body with a bullet-wound:.in.the chest was found on the reeks, near Bondi, ■ and has been idotnified as that qiU Frederick .Charles Bartholomew, aged 20, a' native of Ireland, who arrived 1 from New’Zealand a fortnight ago. It is uncertain’ whether it is a case of suicide or murder. No .firearm has been discovered. It is said he had a considerable ‘ sum of money, hut , his pockets were empty. ■ A mysterious’ entry in his pocket-book, is; “John Pollig, left Berlin January, 1912;’arrived at Sydney August 12, 1912.” It.is not known to whom this refers or how the book came into Bartholomew’s possession.
