Tlie North Canterbury Education Board was strongly of ( pinion that education should staud apart, and the cost be provided out of the consolidated fund and not out of the hj eal r, venue. 1 he Bill proposed to take the power of eeetion out of the School Committees' hands, and consequently out of the parents hands. II it could be shown clear.y that the administration of the Education Beards at the present time stood m the way of a more efficient and economical system they would have to renew their attitude, but to such data had lien put to:ward. Personally, he w;io ol opinion that the system would suffer through a change. The conference decided to invite the- Minister of Education to be present.
