FFLLLIIS' i-ICTUKL’S. "LEAD, KINDLY LIGHT,'’ Cardinal Newman's famous hymn, "Lead, Kindle Light,” has brought more solid and sweet comfort into Hie soul of mankind than any other hymn—with the possible exception of "Nearer,. My God, to Thee"—throughout the history of Christianity. It is with this world-famous hymn that the Fdison Co.'s latest production deals, carrying with it an appeal to the heart that makes one Teel once again the old sweet charm of that sainted refrain
"Lead, Kindly Light." The picture is to be shown in Wanganui for the first time to-night, when Messrs Fuller will screen it at the Opera House. The story- concerns a sweet, innocent little maiden, who, unused to the ways of the world and anxious for a glimpse of big city lite, steals away from ehoir practice and takes an auto ride with a fascinating young business man. Kager-eyed and wondermarvelling, she is enticed to take supper in a gilded cafe, glittering with bright lights. She is tempted, and at last yields to take a glass of champagne, but before she can drink it a “woman of the world” prevents her, by a seeming joke, from taking such a slippery step. The events which follow are interesting, and the sequel is impressive. "The Fud of 'Robespierre” is tiie title oT another of the star dramatic films which Fullers’ have included in to-night's programme. A play about the groat Frenchman should always he welcome. Robespierre had to deal with great issues, isses that affected the people, and he is consequently unforgettable. Another great film of the programme is " The liatllc of Potlsburg Bridge,” a story of the great Civil War. "Ca.pta in .bilks' Dilemma" is a rollicking Vitagraph comedy, with Air John IJinniyin the principal role. "The Training of a London Fireman" gives, one a good insight into Hie methods used hv Fuglaud's champion lirefighters to attain perfection. Ollier items ol more than usual iulcrest, are the AusIraliau Gazette," "Paid in His Own Coin, ' "Animated 'Toys," and “The Ryyal Fark at Caserfa.” Heats should be reserved at O'Hara's.
