The tommittee desire to thank Messra Collier and Gilbert for, the loan of pianos for the fete, and al«<> Messrs Kniickey and L. Nixon for carting them over free of charge. Mr Dustin, mode u large calce for the Fete weight-guessing competition, and the committee ora very thankful to him. Another half-holiday is in store for the school children in .. angaaui next Thursday, ns a result of the postponement of the Fete. No doubt the children will anpreciate this, and attend the Fete in great force. Tho Telegraph Department went, to o great deal of trouble in erecting two tele, graph stations at the *'Vte on Thursday, but will re-erect them for next Thursday. These will cause great interest, as very few who send telegrams know how they go along tho wires. You can send a telegram for 3d, and go to the other station And see it come off the machine for nothing. There will be a general me-ting on Monday night at the Borough Council Chambers at 8 o’clock. It is particularly requested that all ladies should attend. Mr Webb, the caretaker, says the ducks enjoved the Fete on Thursday, and arc locking forward to another ducking, . Visitors came from Hawera and Feeding last Thursday. They state they arc coming again next Thursday. Tlie committee acknowledge with many thanks a cheque from Mr G. F. Moore, Bushey Park, for jEI Is, towards the Fete; also cigarettes from Messrs Roberts, Low, Edlin.and Qilbey, for the tobacco stall. The special thanks f f the committee are due to Mr J. C. Patterson, of Gordon Park, for giving free of charge all the white pine logs for tho chopping competition. Also the New Zealand Express Co.. Ltd., for carting two voi" r heavy loads from Gordon Park to the Racecourse,
