Preta Aaeoeiation.—Telegraph.—Copyright. ADELAIDE, February 29. The Fire Brigades strike has been settled. A conference resulted in signing a tentative agreement, whereby the men waived the question of affiliation with the Trades and Labour Council, and agreed that all future disputes should be referred to arbitration. All the strikers have resumed. SYDNEY, February 29. The wharf labourers decided to work the steamer Woollowara on the strength of an assurance that Queensland cargo was handled by Unionists. BRISBANE, February 29. Work at the wharves is proceeding steadily with non-Unionists. Mr Coyne has announced that he is unable to make any statement in regard to the negotiations with the Employers’ Federation before to-morrow. AUCKLAND, February 29. The representatives of the Federation of Labour who have been here in connection with the general labourers’ dispute, returned to Wellington last night, and will return on Sunday morning for the demonstration organised by labour to be held in Queen Street on Sunday afternoon to protest against the attitude of the local bodies in declining to negotiate with the Federation.
