ASCENT OF MT. EGMONT.
(Per United Press Association.) HA WEB A, July 2-1. A party of ilawora residents consisting of Messrs. P. O’Dea, 11. Brown, E. P. Cos, and B. Joyce, loft town ou Saturday for Dawson Falls, with the intention of making an ascent of Mt. Egraont. A start was made from the mountain house at 8.30 a.in. in pouring rain, but when the party had got through the clouds at an elevation of 5000 feet, they found the summit bathed in sunshine. The era ter uas reached at 2 p.m. This is believed to bo the first occasion on which Mt. Egmont has been climbed in winter.
