(Per United Press Association.) LEVIN, July 10. The Manawatu Rugby representatives defeated Horowhenua at Levin on Saturday by eight points to three.

UNION IS STRENGTH. LEVIN, July 10. Partial amalgamation between the Manawatu and Horowhenua Rugby Unions hao been completed for the purposes of representative games against the strongc Unions. Auckland, Taranaki, and Welling ton are specified as the North Island teams against which the amalgamated fifteen will be pitted; also against such South Island teams as may be agreed upon. A joint committee, drawn from both Unions, has been established to conduct the affairs of the amalgamated team
