A SENSATIONAL EXPERIENCE.
RESCUED FROM A MINING SHAFT.
Seven Days Without Food and Water.
Press Association—Telegraph.--Copyright SYDNEY, July 8. A man named Parr has been rescued from a mining shaft at Wylong after being seven days waterless and eight days foodless. He fell 35ft on to the soft bottom of the shaft, and was uninjured. Eis attempts to ascend were unavailing. He lost his voice for want of water, and was unable to attract attention. On the seventh day rain fell, and he regained his voice, and shouted for assistance which arrived. Beyond weakness, he is little the worse for his adventure.
