Air J. Cooke, S.M., who is relieving Mr F. V. Frazer, S.M., arrived in town"yesterday, from Greymouth. Mr F. V. Frazer, S.M., who has been relieving Air W. Kerr here for the past couple of weeks, has been transferred to Whangarei. Air CTooke, S.M., arrived in town yesterday to lake over the Magisterial duties, pendin'* Mr Kerr’s recovery from his recent accident. Mr M. Dennehy, delegate for v lhe Wanganui branch of the Railway Officers’ In stitutc, left yesterday for Dunedin to attend the annual conference. Mr. H. B. Naylor, of the Westport Coal Company, who has been transferred to Palmerston North, was yesterday the recipient of a valuable travelling ‘ bag from his follow employees as a mark of eptoem. Mr. R. Mathir-on, the manager of the local branch, who inado the presentation, referred to the many film qualities of the recipient, who had carried out his duties in a manner which had won for him the respect of all with whom he had -come in contact. Mr. Mathison concluded by wishing Mr. Naylor every success in his new sphere. Mr. Naylor suitably replied, thanking Air, Mathison for his kind expressions and the staff for the handsome present.
