She was to June be*u lowed out by the Arapawa on this evening s tide. 'Hie .Arapawa anived at 5.35 this morning, with steel lor the pipe works. She returned to Wellington on this afternoon’s tide. The Gertie left Greyinomh for Wanganui at 5.15 yesterday morning. She should come in on this evening s tide, and will probably return soe. T h to-mor-row. The Breeze is expected from soul hern ports to-morrow, with produce, while the Holmdale, also iroin south, should put in an appearance early next week. She brings a cargo of steel rails. Tho 6.6. Sussex, from Liverpool, I ft Capetown on June 22nd for Auckland, ' :a Hobart. She will be due there about July 27th. The s.s. Clan Maclareu left Auckland on Tuesday for Port Pine and Port Kembki, en route for London. Tho s.s. Aparima arrived at Co! imho from Cardiff on Friday last. She will load at Calcutta, Siugapoie, and Stmaraug 1 v Auckland and other New Zealand ports, about the middle of this month. Tho Tongariro, which is to leave -Vel lington on Sunday for Lyttelton, is fixed to load for Loudon at the following poits in the order named: Bluff, Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. She is duo back at WTelingtou on the 23rd hist., and is to sail on the 27th lor London. The Now Zealand Shipping Company have been advised by cable that the Rakaia, which left Lyttelton oil May 12th, has been reported in the English IhainH, and will arrive iu London in ample time for the July wool sales. Tho Tyser s.s. Mimiro, from New York, left Sydney for Auckland on Tuesday, and should arrive at the northern port on San day next. The United States Department of Commerce and Labour is now calling the attention of collectors of Customs in various American ports to the Wireless Ship Act of June 24, 1910, which reads as follows: "Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America, iu Congress assembled, that from and after the first day of July, 1911, it shall be unlawful for any ocoaij-going steamer of the United States, or of any foreign country, carrying passengers and carrying 50 or more persons, including passengers and crow, to leave or attempt to leave any port of the United States unless such steamer shall he equipped ■with an efficient apparatus for radio-com-munication, in good working order, in charge of a person skilled iu the use of Hiich apparatus, which apparatus shall ho capable of transmitting and. rcecivbrmtfsages over a distance of at least -111) miles, night or day; provided that the provisions of this .Act shall not apply to steamers plving only between ports' less than 2CO miles apart.”
